i am wondering has anyone used an ?AI tool to help them make a Layout file from their 3D drawing & scenes. With AI getting so powerful, maybe some one has tried this
no AI tool does that directly as far as I know. but you can get ChatGPT to write a Ruby script that makes a page per scene in LayOut, then run it on a copy of your file. takes some back and forth but it works. API docs if you need them Class: Layout::SketchUpModel — SketchUp Ruby API Documentation
or you could use this 2016 plugins from the sketchup team that takes all your scenes and drops it in a layout file.

my profile was set to web/free by mistake when i signed up. i’m using SketchUp Pro 2026 desktop and have corrected it now. thanks for pointing it out.
I will try this extension, didn’t know it exists. when i have many scenes it’s a pain copy and changing the scene, this might make me a bit quicker , thanks
Hi all, I gave that extension a go and I can see it will save time for bigger jobs , then i can just change top, side front views. BUT is there anyway I can make it put it into a template border I have already ?

I guess the manual way would be to copy the graphical elements from your templates into your multi-page generated layout. but only the graphical elements and all they contain.
this plugin is from 2016, don’t think anyone still there at SketchUp knows who did it.
time someone alters / remakes it then.
no it just gives you paper options. it’s still a help when i have about 30 scenes. (manufacturing drawings) one day i’ll try the ruby to see if i can create part BOMs not just lists (I use DBS plugins, very good for steel works)
