Which computer to get?

Here are two computers I’m looking at. Which would you recommend and why, or would you recommend something else in this price range instead?

Thank you in advance!

Lenovo 82XW001WUS Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7-13620H 2.40 GHz 16.0" Windows 11 Home 64-bit - Newegg.com

ASUS Vivobook S 15" OLED Laptop EVO Intel 13 Gen Core i9 with 16GB Memory 1TB SSD Midnight Black K5504VA-ES96 - Best Buy

The Lenovo is better cause it has a discrete Nvidia gpu, the asus has integrated graphics which aren’t the best for sketchup or any 3D program.

The single core performance is the same between the13th gen i9 and i7, also both have the same performance cores, i9’s are not worth it for 99% of the people.

I would crank up the total RAM to as much as the machine can hold or you can afford. Sketchup only uses a single core.

How about this one then? It has more RAM

New Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 15.6" IPS Full HD Intel Iris Xe graphics Intel Core i5-1235U 32GB DDR4 RAM 512GB SSD Thunderbolt 4 HDMI Windows 11 Pro Gray - Newegg.com

I would prefer the one with the Nvidia graphics card.

besides, you can add / replace your RAM later. maybe when there is a big sale in your country.
I know I did, bought a 16GB PC, upgraded it to 32 a couple of month later, was cheaper than buying the 32gb straight away.

I apologize but I’m jumping on this thread with a very similar question! I’m not computer savvy and did my best to match the SU requirements to a new Laptop (upgrading my current MSI) I’ve found this Lenovo: https://www.lenovo.com/us/vipmembers/bofa/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5-series/legion-pro-5i-gen-9-(16-inch-intel)/83df00apus
But then it’s a but cheaper on Amazon but with a different extended warranty: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CZ28Z4LY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

I’m an ‘average’ SU user and may get into light rendering. I appreciate you insight - thank you!!

Your first link goes to your personal account page so I cannot view it but the computer at the Amazon link is quite powerful enough for professional SketchUp use. If your models are very heavy with millions of edges and faces don’t expect new hardware to give you a large performance boost.

Thanks Anssi! The only difference (besides price) is who provides the warranty: Assurion from Amazon and ‘Legion’ from Lenovo, which I assume is a Lenovo company. I think this link will work for the Lenovo site, not that important though  https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5-series/legion-pro-5i-gen-9-(16-inch-intel)/83df00atus
Thank You!!
