I’m teaching Sketchup in the first semester of the Architecture programme at LTH, Lund university, Sweden. During my teaching I’ve encountered a couple of tools, features and techniques that might be improved, to have a more coherent logic in relation to the rest of the software. Add Location Imagery Not Aligned With Axis

I can’t remember when this started happening, as it has been many months that this has impacted me. But I recall distinctly that when adding imagery, it would be aligned with the default axis perfectly. Now when I add a location, the imagery imported is not aligned with the axis. This is very annoying and creates some problems when changing the image texture, which I need to do now that the new imagery source is awful. I can’t recall if this problem started occurring with the new imagery source…

North Direction

My understanding is that the green axis is the North axis. My question is: when you manually add a geo-location to your model, does the north angle deviate from the green axis, or are all the sun angles adjusted in relation to the green axis. For example, I have manually added my latitude and longitude, but the shadows are not as they should be, or at least not what I expected. Where's North?

Hi Fresh Newbie here, using the the Web Version. I can set my location alright, I can set the date, and time of day. But I can’t find how to point to north… and though I don’t know for sure where north is in me sketch, I do know it’s wrong, cuz the shadows fall in the wrong direction… again, web version here, slightly different than what i see in online tutorials. Thanks for your time and effort.
