Very nice, I am more focused on the tissue you modelled! Good job indeed.
I used U-V Polygen to create a sine wave about three periods (or cycles) long. I scaled down a copy and then rotated the larger one a bit out of plane.
The two sine waves were then connected with a 3" half-sine wave at right angles to the others using Spirix:
The last step was to apply a photograph of a tissue as the texture … all in all, it turned out pretty well
