I have recently been having this problem, ie it didn’t used to happen but has just started. Creating a component would freeze sketchup. I tried disabling and uninstalling all my extensions but to no avail. I don’t have admin rights.
It was caused by the primary display being the other connected display and not the built in one on the laptop. Once i changed this back the problem went away.

I have just started to have this problem today. The only thing new to my SketchUp extension lineup is FlexTools. So I disabled it, didn’t fix the problem, I disabled all of my extensions, and SketchUp still lags for just over a minute when I make the first component. All other components after this one are instantly made with no lag time. (The component is just walls).
Win10 1909, newest Videodrivers, SU2020: same problem.

But: I changed the primary display in the first place because SU didn’t display certain toolbars. I hope they are still there when I restart my computer.
