Sketchup/Layout Designers - What's your standard design time (hours of labour) start to finish?:

Rather than asking how long is a piece of string, I like to think of it as “how stringy is a piece of length”

There is even a formula for the length of a piece of string: 2(0.5l) [ or 2l/2] - where ‘l’ is length (doh!). In other words, that can be written as “Twice as long as half it’s length.”

Recent project of mine - permit set for a small custom timber frame barn that will be hand fabricated. Architectural drawings, foundation and engineering drawings, shop drawings.

23.5 Hours Schematic Design (SU modeling for concept, size)
14.5 Hours Construction Documents (LO detailing permit set)
24.0 Hours Shop Drawings (detailed engineer reviewed fabrication drawings, included in permit set)
5.0 Hours Coordination (working with craftsman, engineer, etc)

67.0 Hours Total

Here are a few sheets to give an idea:

Very nice! I loved doing a (hybrid) timber frame once with Benson Woodworking. They were a joy to work with.

That’s great. I know Ted and Christine (and quite a few others) from my circles in the Timber Framers Guild. Good people. I’ve done a lot of work in New England… my old stomping grounds.
