Modeling CAD Exercises in SketchUp LIVE!

It’s always a good day to practice the fundamentals!

This time on SketchUp Live, @TheOnlyAaron takes on CAD modeling drills to keep his 3D muscle memory sharp. There’s big-time value in creating basic geometries, and you get to see Aaron’s thought process (and modeling process) in real-time.

For bonus points, follow along on your computer to get your 3D brain in shape!

Watch on YouTube or LinkedIn.

Do you have a list of the parts Aaron will be modeling?

Not until tomorrow, Dave! I will put up images an hour or so before the stream.

Howdy Aaron and Matt, What would you think of the idea of doing a quick demonstration of a different SketchUp tool each Friday? I know there are lots of YouTube videos on them but it would be good for the new people and it never hurts to review the fundamentals. All the best, Transom

Here are our plans for the day…

Get it?? Because they are plans, but the plan for the live stream is to model them! Ha!

Dang… I over explained…

Anyhow… download if you want to follow along…

Aaron, please share the links to the recording, yesterday’s session.

So I modelled a few of these yesterday for fun; after a while of shunting the finished models and images off to the side, I also noticed a small black smudge ‘on my screen’. On closer (zoomed) inspection, I discovered it was the scale figure that I’d neglected to delete! Lesson learnt when setting the units to metres (which I never normally do).

I know that Francisco already gave the link but, if you want to find the previous ones, try searching YouTube with SketchUp live. The second frame shall get you to this page:

The list on the right gives you access to a lot of these videos. These are a gold mine of ideas and tricks.

Looks like you got a link. For future reference, the links in the initial post will always work, as well. Post stream, they link to the recording.

thanks.
