I’m hoping to use OpenStudio for energy modeling. At present, I have a free account and am using SketchUp via the web. After poring over various sources, I’m guessing I need a downloaded version of SketchUp to install the OpenStudio plug-in. Is that correct? (Can’t imagine plugging anything into software I don’t actually have locally!) AND is there a free version downloadable of SketchUp? I’m assuming at some point I gotta buy a subscription…

All extensions/plugins need a desktop version of SketchUp to work.

Unless you are a hobbyist using SketchUp for your own amusement you’ll need to buy a subscription to either SketchUp Go or SketchUp Pro and if you want to use extensions, it’ll have to be SketchUp Pro.
