Import DWG is not working in Layout

I am trying to import the attached DWG and I cannot get it to render correctly. I have tried importing as paper space and as model space, used every setting to see if I can get it to work.

I will get bits and pieces of the drawing depending on the import settings but I cannot get the drawing to render in its entirety. When i import it as a SketchUp model space all of the layers (tags) show but the drawing doesn’t show. When I import it as paper space it is missing layers (tags) including all of the text.

Please let me know if there is a way to import the file and have it render fully. Try your luck, the file is attached.

  • Select the whole model and explode it (in a CAD program);
  • Import it into SketchUp;
  • Clean it;
  • Send it to LayOut

Thanks for the reply, If explode it will I lose the layers (tags)?

I also exploded it as you recommended then imported it into layout and sketchup and I’m still not seeing the entire drawing as shown in your screen shots.

I used QCAD, selecting everything and then exploding once, and then I imported the dwg file into LayOut/SketchUp.
