Hi Francis
Thanks for all of this - you didn’t have to invest all this time, but I wouldn’t say no for some help.
The biggest challenge for me is to figure out how to have the handrail in a consistent angle, while with the staircase I got.

Maybe you didn’t understand, but I’m not meaning to be aggressive at all.. and I’m not “demanding” anything to anyone.
I just stated (what should be) the obvious, that probably a beginner didn’t get, but you should: if you don’t include the EXACT drawings, then you cannot get the EXACT shape you are explicitly asking for.
Can you argue with that? Or ya all just want to pointlessy keep tagging me to say how aggressive I’m (which I’m not at all)? ![]()
In which way this should be interesting for the topic we are discussing here?
Why do you need to know my operating system? I can’t get your point.
Off Topic:
Maybe there is a language or cultural barrier, but if you claim you aren’t being aggressive, I can give you the benefit of the doubt.
When you kept asking for exact drawings and dimensions I looked up your profile to see other posts you have made and noticed your profile is not ‘exact’ - surely someone who is into the details would fix this. ‘vertex tools’ is not an operating system I’ve heard of, and the profile information helps people understand what version, OS, hardware, etc. that you are using when you need help.
Clearly you don’t need help… so all good I guess.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I believe we are clearly going..
I didn’t “kept” doing anything, I only asked once.
Because HE asked for EXACT shape, which of course needs EXACT dimensions and sections.
Still nobody arguing with that specific statement, but everyone loves to be offtopic just for the sake of it, I guess.
I’m not sure if you are trying to be ironical, but since I subscribed to this forum, I most likely try to help someone else rather than asking for help.
To be exact, I doublechecked and I asked for help only two times in ten years and I did it like a behaviorally normal adult should, so that you don’t need to look to my profile to help (also.. considering that I can access and use multiple Sketchup versions on multiple PCs, multiple graphic cards and multiple operating systems).
That’s how I asked for help here:
How to "reset" extension warehouse account to exclude old pc's no more in existence?
Need help identifying a Plugin used in a Tatlin Sofa You Tube video - #11 by panixia
so..
¯_(ツ)_/¯
edit: I missed this point:
Well, you can doubt all day long, but I do not design sketches to try to explain, I do not download, open and analize someone else file just for the sake of criticize it and state that “I’m an expert” (which I never said, btw).
I was clearly trying to help and I also wanted to model that piece (the fading grooves are actually easy for me, even exactly proportioned.. provided taht one adds proper references and dimensions).
Of course I’m not willing to help anyone anymore, being that if someone point outs problems that needs to be addressed, then becomes “the villain”
So that even original poster feel authorized to be unecesseraly rude and reply like this to someone willing to help for free. That’s fine, I guess.
I would take it further than that, for a lot of questions the answer DEPENDS on what operating system you use..
Except that I didn’t ask any question.
And most importantly, if people keep going off topic to criticize me, then it’s alright.
But if I try to respond to clarify, then of course is flagged as off topic. ![]()
Sorry for replying after a while, I was really busy the las few days and had almos no time to do the stairs properly, instead I model new stairs in a more logical way, and used SubD and Quad face tools to make them, that way the railing was the easiest part, I´m not sure if they work for your model but you can have an idea of how to model with this technique, I would love to model the exact same layout of the stairs but it requires some time to model them using quads cause all the levels are different and the steps count is different but I’m just on the middle of a big project and I can barely sleep. I model just one part of the stairs, made it a component and copied all the way to the end, then make unique the first and last instances, worked with some creases as well as with the handrail and done, it took me actually 20 mins to do that, I recommend you to learn as much as you can about Quad face modeling and subdivision surfaces, it will help you a lot for future projects. By the way also one of the tools I used and is fundamental for quad face modeling is Vertex tools.
