In my work I have to constantly update the BOM as the design gets more accurate in order to predict material quantities as early as possible. It would be a big help if I didn’t have to clean the data every single time.
At the moment when exporting the comma separated data, you have to additionally separate the units to a different column in order to get useful data (numbers). I know it can be done and it’s easy, because I do it all the time, but personally I would rather not do it. And mixing numbers (data) and units is stupid anyways.
The units should be removed from the data and shown in the column header. Other solution would be to at least separate the units from the actual value by comma instead of space. After all .csv means a comma separated file, not space separated.
