Drawing the outline of my property

The plugin is an RB file and the extention manager will only recognize RBZ.

@mattg425,
(I’m back on a laptop here)

Go to:

This PC > OS(C:) > Users > you as a user > AppData > Roaming > SketchUp > SketchUp 2017 > SketchUp > Plugins > save the ___.rb file here
Restart SketchUp

The folder AppData may be a hidden folder, so you may need to unhide it first to continue, to get to see further folders (Roaming etc.)

The extension manager installed my .rb files or recognizes them.

Thanks again. I’m not sure why I’m having problems doing this, but could you send me an email with the SKP file for this. My email is mattg425@yahoo.com

Have you managed to get the *.rb file in the right plugin folder yet?

On windows for .rb files you can get them to .rbz by the following:

Right click the .rb file.
Send to>compressed zipped folder.
You now have a zipped folder containing the .rb
Replace the .zip folder extension name with .rbz

The .rbz is now found and usable in the extension manager.

I did. I got the tool to load in sketch up 2013, but I’m still having problems with the angles

The plugin draws a continuous sequence of edges, starting at the origin and inside a group’s context.
So you start at the origin.
The input is:
. distance (input length of the edge)
. this edge will run either north or south (select according to survey)
. it runs at an angle (input angle) from that north/south direction
. (rotates) to either the east or to the west (select according to survey)
. click [OK]
. continue drawing the next edge running from the end of the first edge

Personally I prefer to just use continuous line drawing the correct length along the proper axis and then rotate that edge away from that axis according to the survey information over the given angle. So just SketchUp’s native tools.
