Can we get arcs that behave more like AutoCAD? Not just made of segments

AutoCAD and other cad programs have arcs that are not made of segments, and can be adjusted based on end and center points. Can we get adjustable arcs like those? Sometimes I place and arc down then I would like to tune the arc a little bit. The current arc tool creates arcs that are ‘frozen’ once you create them. This is the same with the text tool. Generally, it would be great if many of the elements could be adjustable - post creation.

yes, 2d drawing softwares can have vector circles and arcs, while 3d drawing softwares can’t. because of π and the effect an irrational number has on creating faces.
some 3d softwares will lie about it and make it look like it’s a perfect circle (and andchange resolution as you zoom in). SU won’t.

it’s already the case. you can change your arcs after you’ve drawn them.

simply select the arc or circle and in the “entity info” panel change the radius or the segment count.

the 3d text ? there is an extension on sketchucation that can do that I think. not sure.
Yeah, There is one from ThomThom
or at least there was, until 2021

2d text can be edited afterward by double clicking on it.

I don’t believe that this is correct. Moi3D, AutoCAD (3D part of it), AutoDesk Alias, Rhino and maybe even Form Z don’t seem to have issues with true curves and even NURBS. Maybe you are referring to things like Max, Maya and Blender. Or at least how I understand it.

Technically, I think, “true curves” and NURBS are the same thing. Rhino is great as it supports face, NURBS and quad geometry in a single package but compared to SketchUp its interface sucks. I keep hoping the SketchUp programmers would come up with a SketchUp way to do the same.

Well I know all NURBS are curves but not sure if all curves are NURBS, if that makes sense. I found Rhino to be very AutoCAD like so it seemed familiar to me.
