Building Blocks of Sketchup (LEGO PROJECT)

Hello I am reaching out to the SketchUp community because our class is running into problems while working on this new project. Students are tasked to build a Lego model in SketchUp, using the move tool. This is a premade template that has the blocks available for the students, however halfway through the project students loose access to all the parts to finish up the Lego build. Where can I find the missing blocks?

Thank you

Need more info. Is the template equipped with components that are the Legos? Is there some “Purge Unused” setting on save that’s interfering. Maybe you could share the template file here so we can see how you’ve set it up.

I can’t use that link because I no longer have access to SketchUp for Schools specifically, just the paid Web, iPad and Pro versions. I did teach with it when it first came out, but COVID put an end to that gig.

Is this the Lego template file/lesson you’re referring to? SketchUp for Schools: The Building Blocks of SketchUp - Google Docs

If so, and like @RTCool says, we can’t access SketchUp for schools without an EDU account and authorization. I imagine that the issue you’re facing is that they gave you one or a few of each block to get you started, but most of the blocks, like the roof tiles, are copies of the original instance provided. You and your student’s need to ‘copy’ a block from the ones provided and place the ‘copies’. Therefore you can have an unlimited number of blocks from the few provided in the template. Perhaps @CaseyG can confirm if this is the case.

Edit: See here where they specifically instruct you to use the Move tool with the Modifier to make a copy of the current piece:
