I am retired from the semi-conductor industry where most of my industrial career focused on the physical design of integrated circuits. I have been interested in residential design and construction as a sort of parallel career for many years. Since retirement I have been involved in the tiny house movement where I have used SketchUp to create 3D framing models from which I can produce materials and cut lists as well as detailed build information. Lately I have been spending a lot of my “spare” time doing residential design work for both additions and complete houses. I have been using a mix of Home Designer Pro software from Chief Architect and SketchUp to do my design work.
