I have a background in Architecture and have been using Sketchup since version 3 or 4. Have used it for both professional work and hobbies (3d printing, DIY stuff). It was my main work horse along with layout for many years but I’ve transitioned back to Revit and only use it for hobbies now.

While working with Sketchup i learned a lot about Layout, dynamic components and odd workarounds to make layout work. Those workarounds are not missed but the simplicity of Sketchup is.

I’m certified in BIM management (CM-BIM) by the AGC and work with Revit, dynamo and Navisworks most of the time now.
