I use Sketchup to create construction documents for residential homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I’ve been doing it for about 1 ½ years now. I would say I am very good at drafting sets of plans (floorplans, elevations, sections, electrical plans and site plan.) All the drawings you need to take to the city or county building departments.
I’m really impressed with Sketchup as a drafting software. I use know other software to do my work because in my opinion you don’t need any other software. I don’t think there isn’t anything it can’t do.
I haven’t gotten into renderings but I did buy a third party software called Shaderlight. I haven’t had time to learn it but will be doing that in the future.
