i don’t understand why anyone would ship an SDK Sample that can’t be debugged in Debug

Is there anyway to load a debug version of a export dll. If I take the example skp_to_xml debug dll and load it in sketchup sketchup crashes. Only the release seems to work. I know that I can turn off all optimizations for the release version and that works. But is there a way to load the debug version?

Ie, .362 is the Windows build, .363 is the MacOS build.

Hmmmm… maybe you are right, Dan, and I am not understanding the versioning…
Anyway, I can assure you that I am running Windows, and the installer I have (see picture) says 363. How comes?

You are looking at the properties of the application executable.
And yes you are correct, the SDK d/l page lists the build numbers incorrectly (they are swapped.)
(I now remember telling them about this and several other errors, but their attempts to fix them was only partially completed.)

It is really sad that Trimble personnell, even if notified by you, does not correct such errors. Because such errors contribute to confuse users (even Sages, I’ve seen!).

thanks for the pointer to the technical explanation. Indeed passing std::string across DLLs is a poor choice.

I agree. Especially when the target audience are engineers using the products to create documentation, and their own documentation for the products is faulty.
