There is some cleanup I did not do. For example, I just noticed that @selected_edge is defined in activate() but is not really used afterward.
It’s a joy to use. I’ve been creating parallel offsets to guide lines on whatever geometry I can find for the last half hour for absolutely no reason.

Cut & pasted the changes into a markdown text file in the above post so it can be saved into your project folder.

Thanks. I’m going to allow some time for the trauma to subside before I take a proper look at what you did to the code and hopefully learn something.
If anyone wants to publish this on one of the plugin repositories, feel free.
