Who: AJ Malone, Anthony
Where: Lecturer in CAAD and Studio for the Architecture programmes at Liverpool John Moores University
What: I use SketchUp in my teaching and most parts my design thinking.
Why: Elegant simplicity in concept; low level of prior knowledge and expertise to achieve results. Impressive sophistication and organisation possible. Open ecosystem resulting in so much additional functionality.
Why2: Freedom: design decisions can be sequenced in the process to avoid slowing creativity.
How good: quite good, but no medals.
