I started as a carpenter and transitioned into a designer-builder, which I’ve been doing for 33 years. I’ve designed and or built hundreds of custom homes in Australia, from small extension/renovation work to McMansions on cliff faces. Every project since 2003 has been designed and quantified predominately in Sketchup.

Throughout my career, I learned to automate the virtual construction process via the plugins we continue to build in our Sydney office. When I’m not busy building construction projects, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking and tennis, I’m passionate about extending the capabilities of Sketchup for the Design & Construction industry. Everything that’s designed should be feasible, buildable and quantifiable so that we know exactly what will be delivered and the cost associated before commencing a project on-site.

My main job is building Design/Construction Automation Software: PlusSpec, PlusArchitect and PlusDesignBuild for Sketchup. These plugins automate Sketchup and Layout enabling new SketchUp users to deliver high-quality Virtual Construction BIM models, cost breakdowns, estimates, bids and accurate 2D plans via Layout.
