When I’m working on a single grouped model in very big site and I have set view option to hide rest of the model and when I press zoom extend it supposed to zoom extend only that group like in Sketchup 2023 but in 2026 it’s zoom extended to cover my whole site and make my model looks tiny in a corner.
And it’s very annoying that I have to select something first and then press zoom selection.
Perhaps you have something placed at a distance from the rest of the geometry in the object you are editing. Share the .skp file so we can see exactly what you are working with.
No. If you turn on Hide Rest of Model and open an object for editing so the rest of the model is hidden, you should see the same results with Zoom Extents. Do a screen video recording to show what you get.
Here’s more of the same sort of thing in your model.
Go into Model Info>Components and tick the box for Hide Rest of Model. Then try again. I have a keyboard shortcut for that so I can turn it on or off as needed.
I have faced the same issue when I updated to SketchUp 2025, back then I thought it was some kind of bug so again installed 2023 version but newer version are far better for handling heavy geometries.
It’s either something you’re doing or perhaps it’s caused by some extension you have running. Zoom Extents does zoom as expected in both SketchUp 2025 and 2026.
