Why Quadface Modeling?

I am learning Quadface modeling. But why quadface modeling? I don’t know much about it. What are the differences according to the modeling made with native tools? I need information or opinions on this subject.
Thank you.

Quadfaces used for subdivision plugin subd

SUbD uses a Catmull-Clark based algorithm for the subdivision. This type of subdivision is optimized for quadrilaterals.

Quadfaces made with 2 triangles.
And the subd-plugin gives the sketchup users now the ability to made organic surfaces

Here an example of my porsche 908/3 body - the mirror has one iteration of subd applied and looks now more smooth and clean.
I had turn on “Hidden Geometry” to display the real mesh structure made with triangles.
