Hi all, I’ve been looking for SketchUp jagged lines issues but I have not seen anyone with this type of jagged lines, it wasn’t like this yesterday. Apparently the new graphics engine does this, but when I switched to the classic engine, everything is fine, at least it looks fine but the classic engine is too unoptimized in models with big site context. Does anyone know what’s happening here?
I can’t upload model because of confidentiality, thank you for understanding
Typically this occurs when the model or part of it is at a large distance from the origin (0,0,0). It’s hard to tell what the situation is in your model since we’re not allowed to see it. Reset the axis position and hit Zoom Extents. What do you see?
Here, I don’t remember how do I find the origin axis like AutoCAD, I manually set the origin axis to where my model is most detailed, this is the extent of the model, hopefully this helps. In the meantime, do you know how to remove the orange axis as well? Because the context model is given by another party, so maybe they added something similar to UCS in CAD
You moved the intersection of the axes to where the model is most detailed. You cannot move the origin (0,0,0) in SketchUp.
Your model evidently covers a very large area in the first place and when you hit Zoom Extents and the model looks like it disappears, that indicates you have something at a vast distance from the rest of the model. You’ll need to hunt around for whatever is causing that and delete it. I would start with a left to right selection window around the top half of the model window when it looks like in your last screenshot. Hit Delete and the Zoom Extents. Make selections where you know your model isn’t supposed to be and delete stuff until Zoom Extents shows your model.
Yeah, I found something in my tags because of imported CAD drawing, some edges or faces is very high above where the model is. Once I deleted that random edge or face above my model, things are still the same until I reopened my SKP model. Thanks for your help, appreciate it!
