Why do i keep running into the issue: "Failed to open document"

i have run into this same problem many. MANY times.
I save my model to Trimble connect as per usual, then out of nowhere someday it might come up as “failed to open document” and then boom. All that work, gone.
Creating a backup should not be the solution to such a flaw in design, why does this happen and how can i stop it?

If you´re saving it just to trimble connect, it can get corrupted if you lose internet connection while saving, you should always save to your local drive and use trimble connect as backup.
