Where to find RUN SIMULATION option in SketchUP Pro 2017?
That must come from an extension if it exists. What are you trying to simulate?
I’m using it for Educational purpose…
so i selct any random model & try to used it with EnergyPlus software…
but i’m not able find any run simulation option…
I wonder if there was an option for that in OpenStudio 1.0.0 (see Extension Warehouse) but that doesn’t appear to be updated for SU2017. In fact the latest version it appears to be updated for is SU2013. You might try contacting the author, though.
In Extension Warehouse m not gettting Run Simulation extension
I watched the video in youtube…
In that SU having Run Simulation Option…but the SU version in not given…
Running EnergyPlus Simulations from the OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in - Part 1 - YouTube in this link @17th sec…
i want to do the same…
There is no Run Simulation option native to SketchUp. I didn’t tell you to look for Run Simulation in the Extension Warehouse. The video specifically indicates the extension I referred to: OpenStudio and it was published in 2010. As I already said, it’s not updated for SU2017.
From the EnergyPlus website:
EnergyPlus is a console-based program that reads input and writes output to text files. It ships with a number of utilities including IDF-Editor for creating input files using a simple spreadsheet-like interface, EP-Launch for managing input and output files and performing batch simulations, and EP-Compare for graphically comparing the results of two or more simulations.
Based on this, it seems that the missing piece is the link between EnergyPlus and OpenStudio. I’m not going to investigate further as it likely involves learning a new API which I have no reason to learn at this time.
As far as the video goes, it assumes this link is already in place and gives no information on setting it up.

Navigate to the OpenStudio web address, IIRC there is an updated (SU2017 compatible) version there.
