When pulling a piece to thickness it often comes out to ~1/2 instead of 1/2. what am I doing wrong?

I designed a dresser with many pieces at 1/2" thickness (or so I thought). When I went to OCL (open cut list) many pieces showed ~1/2. When I ‘pull’ a piece to thickness, I think I was using the built-in notifications (1/4, 3/8…1/2). Clearly I am being imprecise. Any suggestions for reliable thickness pulling? Thank you.

In Model Info, do you have length snapping on? Turn it off if it is enabled. You could set the length to a tighter margin too. Like 1/32" . You can use guide points. It’s a little tricky. If you set the guide point from a corner or middle and push/pull from the same place, you can stop right on the guide point (Look for the guide point pop up when you hover over it.)

It does sound like you have Length Snapping enabled as @Royce suggests. That will lead to all sorts of imprecision in your modeling. Better to turn it off and type the actual desired lengths and distances for your project. Also set Display Precision as high as it will go. (1/64 in. for Fractional units) so that you can more easily see and fix dimension issues if they occur.

Super! Thank you
