Version 2025 introduced new features and it has known issues. You can still use version 2023 or 2024 without having to uninstall version 2025 if you need a more stable version.
It might be better to post your issue in the appropriate sub forum. Are you sending in your bugsplats? Be sure to sign them with your email and then add a description. If you post the issue in its own thread hopefully one of the SU team can look for your splats and help diagnose the issue.
I’m on a Mac but my guess is because you have 2 different GPUs you may need to force SU to only use one. The new graphics in 2025 require more horsepower and more specific hardware than older versions.
You could also try 2024 and see if that performs better for you.
Thanks mike, ill find the appropriate forum
Hi,
I’m in London and I’ve been using Sketchup since around 2013/2014.
I pretty much only use if for personal/home projects. e.g. Designing wardrobes, designing my garden etc. I also use quite a bit for 3D printing “solutions” for home problems. e.g. replacing a broken vacuum cleaner hose clip, corner brackets for making hardboard storage boxes that will actually fit in storage spaces I have. I have occasionally used it for designing jewellery components to be cast by others.
I have the last Alienware PC that could run Windows 7. I’m not really one for upgrading stuff if it does what I need to do. This is why I use Sketchup 2016
I would class myself as an intermediate user. I’ve been using it for a while, but I learn only what I need to, to get the job done.
Hello, I’m Chris. Bought Pro because it seemed like a fair price to try and learn design in my free time, while I’m laid off. I do commercial roofing for a trade, but I’m 47, won’t be able to work this hard forever.
For starters I’m just trying to present a front wood deck floor plan to the stupid government.
Hello I’m Dave and got Pro to try and learn. I am having problems getting to the sketchup board, as everytime I log in, it takes me back to a page trying to sell me a subscription again.
not sure how to navigate

Hi everyone!
I’m Peter Paul, currently working in sales, but actively exploring a career switch into something more creative — and ideally something that allows me to work with SketchUp full-time!
Where do I use SketchUp?
For now, I use SketchUp personally. I love designing objects to 3D print and have modeled a few complete houses just for fun.
Why SketchUp?
What I love most about SketchUp is the freedom it gives me to experiment and explore ideas. It’s incredibly intuitive.
Skill level?
I’m somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I’ve learned a lot from hands-on projects and especially from the amazing weekly livestreams — they’ve taught me more than any course could.
Have I been to 3D Basecamp?
Not yet, I’m based in the Netherlands and really looking forward to the next 3D Basecamp Benelux!
My setup:
I’m working on an Acer Predator Helios NEO 16 laptop and use SketchUp Pro 2025.
3D Warehouse or website?
Not just yet — but maybe someday!
Anything else?
I really appreciate the SketchUp community — it’s very welcoming and generous. I’m hoping to expand my network here, learn more from all of you, and hopefully give something back in the future.
Favorite emoji?
— always curious, always learning.
Looking forward to connecting with you all!
Please update your profile to SketchUp 2025.
This may help in answering future questions.
Hello. My name is Ian. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I’m a retired litigation lawyer (I’m in my late 60’s), but with a SketchUp related twist. Before becoming a lawyer, I was an architect, registered to practice in Ontario. Now that I’m retired, I’m returning (somewhat) to my architectural roots, as I work on a renovation of our family cottage using (you guessed it) SketchUp.
Why do I use SketchUp and what is my favourite thing about it? I use it because it allows me to develop my architectural ideas in three dimensions, to scale. It’s a wonderful and powerful tool. If only it was available when I was practicing architecture!
How proficient am I in SketchUp? Well as proficient as I can be given hundreds of hours spent building SketchUp models, watching SketchUp YouTube videos, and making massive, massive modelling mistakes. But I have managed to create a working model of our existing cottage and several renovation options along with some LayOut drawings. Let’s call me “intermediate”, but at the lower end of the category.
Have I gone to SketchUp 3D Basecamp? I’m not sure. I started with a short set of introductory videos on YouTube a few years ago. This may have been 3D Basecamp. I’ve certainly spent a lot of time with Aaron in Square One, as well as in the YouTube Skill Builder videos.
I use a MacBook Pro with an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4G graphics card and an Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB graphics processor. My software is SketchUp desktop Pro, version 25.0.659, running on MacOS Sequoia version 15.5.
I’ve used the 3D Warehouse, but I don’t have a page of my own. I have not contributed any models to the Warehouse.
Alas, I do not have a favourite emoji. I’m old school. I try and communicate with clear and considered language (it’s the lawyer in me). Although I confess that from time to time, I can’t resist adding an emoji.
Hello,
I am teacher at elemtary school, teaching 11-14 years old students.
Hello!
I’m an interior architect in San Francisco. I started using sketchup 20 years ago but I never got really deep into it. Just bought the Pro plan and diving back in trying to get serious about modeling and rendering. Been doing as many free tutorial as I can possibly do. Started modeling an actual project and and quickly hitting road blocks. They pros make it look so easy!
