Water Woes!

I am creating a model of a boat hull, floating in the water. The designer is asking for some cross section views. No problem. The cross section of the solid construction is painted black. No problem. But he wants the cross section of the water painted blue. Problem! That’s a problem because the color fill of sections is for the whole model, so they all must be either black or blue.

So I think, but not sure. Am I correct?

TIG Section cut face - you can color the sections anything you want.

Either that or then create two different styles, one with a black section fill, the other with blue, then make two scenes, one with the things with a black section, the other with the ones in blue, and superimpose/crop the scenes in LayOut.

Or set it to vector in LO and explode, color whatever you want…

Even without a plugin, you can use native right click on the section and “Create Group from Slice,” but you have to go into the group and trace edges in order to make faces you can paint. I used to use that before SU could do solid fills.
