Unable to submit extension for review

Hi,

I’ve tried many times to submit a new draft of our AmbientOcclusion extension (clicking the “Submit for review” button) and I always get this error:

The following errors were found:

  • Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘status’)

This was happening also in the past, but after several retries it worked. Maybe the file is too big (301MB)?

Hello @albertoc,
I have checked with the engineering team behind Extension Warehouse and I believe from a data storage perspective the limit is set to around 500mb, that said, it could be that you are experiencing some sort of timeout.

Have you tried uploading a smaller extension to check whether this is more successful? Perhaps you can break your extension down into smaller parts or host some of it’s functionality in a web based application so that the extension itself is lightweight?

There is no way for the submitters to adjust timeout if using the HTML form.

Can the backend on Trimble servers adjust this?

Whilst on the subject, when will the long requested CLI submission API be formalized?

Hi @CraigTrickett ,
Thanks for your reply. We can’t split the extension and we’ve not other smaller plugins ready to be published. We’ll try with a faster connection, to make sure it’s not a timeout problem. In the meatime, as @DanRathbun mentioned, can you make sure there’s not a timeout < 5 min set on the backend?

@CraigTrickett , even on very fast connections (upload of 300MB takes about 30 seconds) we get:
“Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘status’)”
I probably didn’t mention it, but we managed to successfully submit extensions (of the same size) until a couple of months ago. Can you please check if everything is ok on your servers?

Hello @albertoc
Nothing has changed on our side that would be affecting your extension upload. On a daily basis we are receiving many extensions (the review queue backlog is rather infamous right now).
Would you mind trying to upload a smaller extension to see if it’s a problem with your account vs file size.

Thanks @CraigTrickett . I’ve just tried to hit the “Submit for review” the current AmbientOcclusion draft: it worked and now it’s in queue. Please note that I didn’t re-upload the .rbz file: it’s the same file I’ve uploaded in the last weeks and I was continuosly getting the error (also same browser, system and internet connection).
