I have Sketchup PRO 2023 but Skethcup is telling me I cannot open it. HELP
You can’t open SketchUp or just a specific SketchUp model file. What message are you getting about it exactly? Share a screen shot of the message.
Here you go and thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

Are you using SketchUp on more than one computer? This message just means you need sign out of at least one instance of SketchUp. Did you do what the message tells you to do?

By the way, if you’re going to reply via email you should turn off your signature to avoid posting your phone number, address and other contact information. There are bots that troll the forum just looking for that info. Please come to the forum via your internet browser and edit your previous post to remove that information.
NO just one computer.
You do have an active Pro subscription? More than one version of SketchUp on that computer? Someone else using your login information? Regardless, you need to deactivate activations of SketchUp to free up an activation on your computer.
Yes,I have an active PRO subscription; I have never had so many issues with Skethcup until Skethcup 24 and 25.
Working between Sketchup 2024 and Sketchup 2025 has also cause issues in my layout files and wasting endless frustratring hours trying to fix them all to no avail.
Opening multiple versions of SketchUp on the same machine is similar to opening SketchUp on multiple machines. You are limited to just a couple of versions in this case and need to sign out of the one(s) you aren’t using.
What kind of issues. I’m happy to try to help but you have to be specific.
I had no other versions open.
Maybe not open but if you had opened them, signed in, and not signed out you would still be signed into those other versions and they would count as activations. Is there a reason for not doing what the message directs you to do?
I am embarrased to say I do not understand how to do it.
On PCs there is a Windows key. press that, and then type ‘SketchUp 202’
By then you will see the various versions of SketchUp you have installed. Start with the oldest, and open that one. I have a lot of SketchUps installed, and so the list looks like this for me:
When it is open, If you see the welcome screen, check the avatar, to see if you are signed in. This is how it looks if you are not signed in:
If you are not signed in, you can close SketchUp. If you are signed in it looks like this:
Click on the avatar and choose to Sign Out. Once you are signed out, close SketchUp.
Do that for the versions you have. When you get to the newest SketchUp you have installed, still sign out, but instead of quitting SketchUp, choose to sign in again. That should then let the newer version work.
