All of a sudden, when I try to set the dimensions of a rectangle by typing the value having clicked the start point, they just keep changing. I do not click in the dimensions box and have been using sketchup for a few years. the same happens if i try to specify the length of a line. ANy ideas ?
Maybe your mouse is still “moving”, or your track-pad (if you have one) was touched during typing. Or your pointing device(s) is (are) broken, dirty.
(It is also possible that you forgot to turn off the “mouse-mover” software that HomeOffice users love to use. )
After you start moving and the dimensions change, you can either:
1 - Click again to set the opposite diagonal point of the rectangle.
2 - Type the required value then press Enter to validate.
Note that, in point 1.immediately after clicking for the second time, you can still enter two new values followed by Enter. As long as you do not click elsewhere or choose another tool, you can enter new values as often as you want. This is also valid for point 2.
Have you change the Decimal separator in Windows Region and Language settings from “.” to “,”?
