In the attached screenshot, I have a 2" wide narrow stripe to the right of the door. I cannot select it.
As you can see when I tried to color it, the entire right section was painted.
I’ve tried locking my plane’s inferences by holding the Shift key down, that did not work. I’ve tried making sure I clicked & released the Line tool, moving it to the next point & clicking again. That did not work.
What else can I try?

There’s some z-fighting going on because you have faces that are overlapping. Likely because you have Length Snapping Enabled.
The faces that make up the ‘wall’ are slightly crooked:
Your best bet may be to redraw the front with Length Snapping tuned off.

While I was waiting for an answer, I experimented with something without knowing why it might work.
I changed the white background into a component. Then I then tried drawing & coloring those stripes. The coloring did not bleed into other areas but there was some Z fighting.
So, I pulled each stripe up 0.03". That’s when I got to the image you see in the screenshot.
