Hi all!
Please help me with displaying translucent materials, it’s very annoying.
Not much to go on in your question but I guess that you are talking about seeing the edges of the 4x4 post through the corrugated siding? Neither of these have translucent materials applied I would guess.
What you are seeing is two things called Z-fighting and Bleed Through, you can search the forum for those terms to go more in depth, we would need to examine your model to see exactly how much of either you are getting. Both are common graphics problems across many different programs not just SketchUp and both are a product of how computer graphics work. Both can also be mitigated and avoided if understood. Upload your model.
If the lines of the 4x4 go away when you zoom in close then that is bleed through and you need to add thickness to the siding or move the 4x4 away from the siding or hide the edges of your 4x4 or stay closer with the camera or delete things that are very far away from your model origin or buy a better graphics card. Which method of mitigation you use depends on your model. Upload your model

Your corrugated metal has no thickness.
In 3d modeling a ‘plane’ has infinite thinness.
This causes issues when surfaces touch each other, as you are seeing.
BUT
Even with objects that have very thin ‘thickness’ (like metal siding) you may see ‘bleed through’ or z-fighting depending on how far away / how close you are to the objects in your scene.
I made the metal on the right 2.5mm thick and moved the metal 2.5mm forward:
You should also learn about groups / components. I would make nearly everything a component…
