Is there anywhere else I can look for help?
I haven’t seen any real tutorials specific to using SketchUp Free. Other than the appearance of the toolbars, everything works essentially the same as in the desktop client versions. I don’t think any tutorial is going to fix your issue with your computer.
Are you using a proper mouse or using the touch pad or an apple mouse of some ilk?
Well I was using an apple mouse, but I switched to a cheap microsoft one and now the right click shows it and “G” works!! Thanks!!

Well, there you go.
So it was the expensive mouse preventing proper operation. Assuming your Microsoft mouse has a center button/wheel, check to see that the scroll wheel operates Zoom, pressing and holding the center mouse button operates Orbit and holding the center mouse button and Shift together gives you Pan.
