This is another of my set designs created in SketchUp, this one for Bert V. Royal’s “Dog Sees God” at Ohlone College in CA a few years ago.
The story is about the Peanuts characters when they’re in high school and undergoing teenage issues including peer pressure, bullying, drugs, identity, and homophobia. I based the set on the neatly lined up colored frames in the Sunday comics, where so many of us followed the characters as we grew up. But, to show that the old order and innocence are no longer there, the frames are peeling off the page and onto the floor. Projections played a big part here to set up the individual scenes.
As usual, I worked out the design on paper before moving onto SU.
