I am building quantity estimator, all plans are 2D, CAD at best then PDFs (these can be out of scale, different in both directions if not vector) The tape tool is ideal to get a closer fit
I use DCs that scale with a ruby script to build over the plans
My vision would be a native insertion tool, that picks from own folders / trimble connect, responds to the dynamic scale tool as shown. To have a method to influence the live components in the same way. Then assets can be created and shared and easily sized to suit
