Subscription Pro user on Mac

Sketchup Support requested I share my comments here as they could no longer support my issue of the latest release not working well for me…

I’m limping along with the latest Sketchup 2024 for Mac Pro product, waiting patiently for an update that supports the latest hardware and OS software out there. To be frank, not keeping pace with vendors HW/OS SW updates is not providing value to subscription users. I’d expect this behavior in the past with perpetual licensing but nowadays, unacceptable. Shapr3D rocks with updates and its 2D capabilities are growing very quickly.

I thought rejoining Sketchup as a Pro subscription user would keep me on the cutting edge, but when I upgrade to a Apple M3 Max machine with the latest OS, and then learn that the Trimble SU team suggests not updating/upgrading because they don’t support MacOS Sequoia (yet), I need to think why am I paying now a subscription?

There are plenty of Mac users on this Forum and some are running Sequoia with Apple Silicon Macs. Maybe that’s why support suggested you post here. What specific problems are you having?

What machine did you upgrade to? I bought a new M2 Studio Max and an M3 Air last month and both came with Sonoma pre-installed. When did you upgrade, what machine?

Otherwise you are free to complain here like in your other thread but if you want help you’ll need to be more specific.

Also, did the machine come with Sequoia or did you update to it? I thought all M3 stuff had Sonoma on it and only the M4 Macs came with Sequoia.

+1 for support for Mac os Sequoia.
I have i7 mb air and the latest SU pro and the Layout is crashing while loading my old templates.
