SU26 bug splat upon start. Can I delete extensions without launching program?

I downloaded SU26 last week and clicked “import extensions”. It booted up, had an error about one or two extensions that didn’t work so I didn’t click those to bring in, and then I went home from work for the weekend. When I tried to open 26 this week, it immediately bug splats upon trying to boot it up. I tried reinstalling the entire program, and when I did it didn’t even ask me anything about bringing over extensions this time, it just continued to bug splat when I try to open it still.

It worked when I tried to run as administrator, but I work in an office where IT changes out admin passwords all the time and I don’t want to ask for it every time I boot up the program. I’m assuming there’s some kind of extension causing an issue still? Is there a way to delete all extensions back to default if I can’t open the program?

I sent in bug splat reports this morning and also submitted a ticket this morning but haven’t heard anything, so wanted to post here as well. I just tried again to get a crash report number again if it helps - Crash #6451

Thoughts or ideas?

You can remove extensions manually without opening SketchUp. In File Explorer put in %AppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\SketchUp\Plugins. That will open the normally hidden folder. From there you can remove whatever extensions you need.

The last extension to load was Lumion. I think that they are loaded in alphabetical order, though there may be tricks to have some loader sooner. TT_Lib for example is loaded early on.

Someone else seeing crashing found that SubD and Vertex Tools were the extensions causing the problem.

Projection tools by Didier bur also prevents 2026 to start

Thanks all. I removed all the old ones from the folder and re-introduced some of them one by one and it seems like it’s opening now. Will see if it continues to open as the week proceeds and nothing glitches out again =) I might be missing a couple extensions if they failed to load previously but I probably never used half the extensions I had anyways, hah.

I don’t use any of those extensions, nor have I updated to 2026. Bug splats are tracking at about 50% of startups crashing, necessitating a re-log in before I can start to work. Lately, occurring mid drafting sessions daily, to the point I need to autosave every 5 minutes, which is in itself a flow-stopper.

Submitted full service ticket this time, but really, folks, what is the issue with the endless bug splats? This piece of software has reached a vintage where you’d think this type of BETA behavior would be long dialed out of such a matured program of multiple decades of use and development. Why can’t I just pay the price for the software and get to work?

Please, Trimble. Stop re-hashing existing, working tools and find a solution to the simplest problem: Sketchup’s inability to run smoothly.

At installation, I migrated the extensions.

SU 2026 do not start correctly. It stays blocked at the startup page.

I removed the program, including all the files in the Library (I’m on Mac).

Then I reinstalled the program. This time, I was not asked if I wanted to migrate my extensions. Strange !!!

The net result is still the same, it doesn’t work.

I also tried the same procedure after booting in Safe Mode. Still no question asked for the extensions. Same problem.

Although I read that SU 2026 works with Mac OS Ventura, it doesn’t work on my Macbook Pro 2017 with Intel processor. This should be stated on the compatibility page, unless I have another problem.

Did you remove files from /Library/Application Support and ~/LibraryApplication Support/?

Yes, I deleted everything then reinstalled SU 2026. Still no luck, it doesn’t work.
