Style de police : Italique manquant

Bonjour,

Dans Sketchup 2025, je n’ai plus la possibilité d’avoir des textes en italique, ni gras-italique
Y’a-t-il un moyen de l’ajouter?

Merci

The font family needs to include a Italics and/or Bold Italics in order for it to be included in the options in SketchUp.

Tahoma doesn’t include either of those options.

Arial does, however.

So those options are available in SketchUp.

Please update your forum profile. It shows you are still using SketchUp 2021.

Cathy

Was the file generated on a different computer? Maybe on a Mac?

It appears that you can get Tahoma Italics and Bold Italics.

fichier créé sur sketchup 2023, puis ouvert avec Sketchup 2025 sur le même PC

I don’t have SketchUp 2023 installed on this machine but as far back as I can remember you could only select installed fonts. SketchUp does not supply the fonts at all.

I installed the Italic version from the link above and now have it as an option in SketchUp.

Word emulates those other faces. SketchUp doesn’t.

Ehm, tahama does support regular, italic, underlined, bold italic, etc, in most programs!?

So if Word can write tahoma font in various ways, and sketchup is using that same font, why does sketchup have issues using the same font but restricted?

Those programs are emulating those other faces. SketchUp only shows those that actually exist in the system fonts.

Look in your fonts list. Do you have those faces you list included in the Tahoma font family?

Specifically:

Some fonts have true italics. Meaning the designer actually has italic font for each character in the font file. If it doesn’t then the word processor or whatever is displaying the text just does a generic slant.

and

True italics aren’t just slanted; they have noticeable differences from their upright forms. As you guessed, this has to be included with the font pack. If a font doesn’t have a true italic it’s easy to fake it by just adding the slant automatically.

SketchUp won’t add the slant, though.

… but sketchup does not recognize them all?

SUP22 i do see tahoma but with only regular or bold options:

SUP2025 i do see Tahoma font, but only regular option, not even bold?

Luckely i do not use this font (often), so no issues here, i’m just curious about the possibilities.
(since i have a font library of 10K+ fonts :innocent:)

Look at the font options for regular text, not 3D Text.

Since installing the italics version a little while ago, I now have italics as an option in 3D Text, too.

:face_with_peeking_eye: butt of course :innocent:
