SpaceMouse Wireless is only partially detected in SketchUp for Web on macOS

Hi,

I am using SketchUp for Web (Free) in Chrome on a MacBook Pro M3 Pro with a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Wireless and 3DxWare 10.8.13 (r3908).

The SpaceMouse is not being fully recognized in SketchUp for Web.

• The 3Dconnexion Trainer confirms that the device, including rotation, works correctly.
• In 3Dconnexion Properties, the Configure profile is set to “SketchUp for Web”.
• In SketchUp for Web App Settings > Navigation, “Allow 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse support” is enabled.
• Chrome permissions for app.sketchup.com allow Local network and Apps on this device.
• Chrome was restarted after confirming those permissions. A third-party SpaceMouse extension is disabled.

However, inside a model, only forward/back movement produces zoom. Orbit/rotation and pan do not respond, so SketchUp for Web appears not to be receiving the full 6-DoF input.

Is this a known macOS/Chrome issue? What is the recommended diagnostic or fix after the driver, the SketchUp for Web profile, and local-network permission have all been confirmed?

Thank you.

I believe the 3d mouse requires a sketchup plug in (extension) to run. The web version is not compatible with plugins (extensions)

The web version was changed a while ago to work with space mouse. It does work on my Mac, in Chrome and Safari.

Check the settings, especially the lock horizon option. See if your settings are different to mine:

If you’re not see the SketchUp for Web options in the 3Dconnexion system settings, make sure you have the latest version installed.
