Solution for the bug of make component taking long time

If you are suffering from making a component that takes a very long time … There is a solution that I discovered lately … before opening any file just open a blank SketchUp file, then make a simple rectangle and make a component out of this rectangle, after that don’t close this blank file with rectangle component, just go to file and open any big file that you want to work with and now start to make any component you will find that it will create it in just a second … It’s a magic trick. Try it and write back your thoughts here.

What version of SketchUp are you using? Please complete your profile.

Done.

Doesn’t work for me as of today

(The solution unfortunately doesn’t work for me.)

Today I’ve accoutered this problem, for the first time ever, while working with Maxtree grass models from their V60 collection - it’s a free collection, so if this problem’s not solved and anyone is interested to take a look…?

I’ve been working with files far bigger then these today and had no problems, but these take so long (converting groups into components and/ or exploding them) that I gave up.

Models that have this problem so far are:
MT_PM_V60_Ammophila_arenaria_01
MT_PM_V60_Cynodon_dactylon_01

I’m working with FBX files converted with Transmutr into SKP, without any modifications.

Sorry for resurrecting this topic but it was the most recent and not closed.

Hi Ava!
Thanks for letting me know that Maxtree has a free collection, I will try to look into this,
Regards.
