Hi. Im struggling with making the model solid for 3d printing.
i have edited this a punch of times. I’d check all the possible errors with solid inspector2 (internal/reversed faces, lines, holes,…) until the solid inspector2 result only shown up with 3 reversed faces which is currently correct (mean that error is no need to reverse any more). So im so confused where is the problem…
Im using SU pro 2023 now. Please check through my file, i have spent all day for finding a way to make it solid.
This one for example is a classic “bowtie” There’s a zero-thickness intersection between the faces which you can have. Either put a gap between the ridge of the “roof” and the face above it or move the ridge slightly up inside to create the thickness.
You also seem to have a lot of triangulation that ought not to be needed but is due to the inaccuracy of the modeling caused in part by the Length Snapping.
dearly thank you DaveR. finally, the xray mode works extremely well with the solid inspector. i followed your advice and add small gap on top of the roof.
then the reversed surfaces still there so i decided to put an end to that by push them into blocks finally it worked! no more errors and nothing would be more delight by seeing the volume bar appeared!
Btw another extra infor, i dont know why the Solid Inspector 1 doesnt work on my SU 2023. Even i’ve installed it, the tool didnt appear or found anywhere in the toolbars. So i go back to the 2nd version of it.
Might be it only works on the SU 2023, not the pro one
