Solid Inspector2 grouped objects show nested

Using the extension Solid Inspector², I create an object, then group it. I run Solid Inspector² in the group it’s okay. Click out of the group and it indicates nested. What am I missing?

Yes. That’s normal. The group is nested within the SketchUp model. Ignore the message or close the Solid Inspector2 window before clicking off the object.

Is there a way to fix this?

It’s not broken. There’s nothing to fix. When you don’t have a single object (group or component selected) the SketchUp model is essentially selected and in that case, the object is nested inside the SketchUp model. What Solid Inspector2 is telling you is accurate.

Thanks, I was attempting to fix the unfixable.

Maybe more, you were attempting to fix what doesn’t need fixing.

Do this experiment: Start a new file. Make sure the model space is empty. Model a cube but leave the geometry ungrouped. Also leave it unselected. Run Solid Inspector2. It’ll show “Everything is Shiny” because it’s looking at the overall SketchUp model.
