Sleepless Night

who isn’t ?

Well, you have a point there.

Can this be marked as the solution to this thread?

Eating (too much) pie has never cured my sleeplessness.

Pie(too much) = ?

Pie(too much) = me cubed

Originally modeled for shop drawings. Recently redone for a video tutorial.

While rooting in a box the other day I came across a little magnifing glass that belonged to my father. While waiting for my kid I decided to make it digital.

Nice loupe. My father had a similar one, the lens was set in wood and the lower part was detachable and made of brass. I have never really tried to render lens effects - with the magnification these usually have, the shadow would probably look interesting, and at this distance you wouldn’t really be able to see anything through the lens.

Thanks.

This is straight out of SketchUp but I was thinking I might see what V-ray could do with the lens.

Here’s a quick and dirty run through Vray.

I just imported the following image as an image in SU.

Here’s another little Sterling engine.

The flywheel on this one is 90mm diameter.

Most excellent !

Thank you, thank you!

My take on a plant stand designed by woodworker Craig Vandall Stevens. I replaced his veneeered wooden top with an art tile by Motawi Tileworks.

Another go at this plant stand. I like this tile better.

Very nice Dave!

Reminds me of a table a friend had years ago, though I think where you have a tile, theirs had a Tin Ceiling/Embossed Metal Panel with a flowery pattern.

Thank you.

The tin ceiling panel sounds like an interesting idea for a table top.

Great looking table. Either tile would be a great pick. Kind of like choosing coffee or tea.
