I’m new to SketchUp and trying to improve my modeling skills. What are some useful tips or shortcuts that beginners should learn first?

Yeah, save often. That’s been a thing back when I started learning CAD in (gasp) 1989.

When I first started learning SketchUp, I used this video to practice modeling. The first time I slowed the video down and it took me about an hour to finish. The second time it took around 40 minutes, and by the third try I was able to follow along at the same speed as the creator.

That’s a really helpful way to learn SketchUp. Repeating the same model several times seems like a great way to build confidence and get faster with the tools. I’m definitely going to try this approach myself.
