Hey!

Wanted to show a quick tutorial on how to hide object edges in the newest versions of SketchUp and a few tips to do it faster, without using any extensions, like [Hide All Edges from Fredo](https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=HideAllEdges).
This style tip works great for:

- Improving readability of 3D Text. (I Wish this was a standart checkbox in the tool or Entity Info);
- Reducing visual noise of individual SketchUp models;
- Improving SketchUp file performance (less edges visible= better performance).

When creating city scale models, I usually only leave edges visible for the building I’m working on. Makes a huge difference in performance.

To make shortcuts for **Deselect Faces** and the **propper Hide** command - you need to select some geometry first. Otherwise they do not show up in the Shortcuts menu.

**Deselect Faces is a recent command** **that is not available in older SketchUp versions**.

For text clean up in older versions you can:

1. Select a face and chose Select all with Same Material
2. Invert Selection;
3. Hide all edges
