Hi there,

I’m new on this forum and I am from the Netherlands so sorry for my poor English

I recently bought a new computer and now Sketchup no longer runs as smoothly as on my old system (i5-4670 / 16GB RAM / 950GTX)

My new system (AMD Ryzen 7 3700X / 32GB / RTX2070Super) should be at least as fast.

But basic operations such as rotating, moving, etc. are very ‘laggy’. The same file on the old system runs fabulous.

I tried a lot:

- update drivers windows / video
- Nvidia settings specifically for sketchup.

Nothing seemed to work. Video card is doing well because, for example, Twinmotion runs perfectly.

Hopefully you have any suggestion, thanks in advance!

The only correct way is to right-click the installer and select “Run as Administrator”. It is not enough to be logged on as an adminstrator. This requirement (which is not unique to SketchUp) is because modern OS’s have upped their security requirements to protect against malicious code that tries to modify crucial system areas su…
