Some people where I work have the Pro 2026 version, and some have the Make 2017 version. Usually the “Pro” people save their file down to a “Make” version, I don’t know how.
Recently this has become a problem where the “Make” versions do not open anymore. It used to be fine but the most recent files saved down don’t open.
Does anybody have any advise on this?
FYI - the”MAKE” versions aren’t licensed for use in a commercial environment, so posting about it on the official forum is a nice way to invite letters from the lawyers…
Even with a payed license for sketchup 2026 one can not use the make commercially?

PS and what about sketchup 22? since unfortunately that is still my “go back to” version to go due to specific extensions that do not work in newer versions like sketchup 23, 24, 25 and 26?

Yes! It is a one-to-one, so I would have thought it would be okay? But maybe it’s not! It’s essentially that one person has two computers, an upstairs computer and a downstairs computer. The upstairs computers have Pro, and the downstairs computers have Make. Am I supposed to need a Pro license for every computer?
How the hell does that even work? Every time you move up or down you have to back save / resave / etc.? My god what a horrible place to work.
I have SketchUp Pro installed on my laptop and my desktop. The same version. If I install it on a third or fourth I would be forced to sign out of of the other ones to continue…
You will need licenses for every user as AFAIK two people can’t be logged in and working on the same license at the same time.
It is very clear in the EULA that a subscription is for one user but it can be used on two different machines without signing out. Each person in your office needs a subscription of their own. It’s also clear in the EULA for the Make versions that they are not to be used for commercial work.
Every person needs their own a subscription they are named user licenses , not machine based ones. Hope that clears it up.

That’s my new way of sketching
Start in SUP26, so one can geo locate the model, since that feature was disabled in SUP22.
Then save back to an older version like 17 or 21.
Open in SUP22 (or older) to be able to use the essential extensions, since they do not work in SUP23, 24, 25 nor 26.
Been like this for a couple of years, so i am starting to get used to it
And yes, some days i also need to sign in 3, 6, 12 times a day when switching version.
And yes, some days i even need to reboot the system to keep everything operational, like the spacemouse.
1 job, 1 license, 1 user, 2 computers, 4 versions of sketchup, 8 work arounds, 16 rofl 
What extensions do not work in newer versions?
I would pay someone to re-write them at this point… or I would change jobs.
DL-Light for example.
latest version (16.0.32) makes SUP22,25 and 26 crash when opening a file at startup somehow.
previous version (16.0.25) i missed and is not avaiable for download anymore.
so back to version before that (16.0.20) which works great in SUP22, but does not work in SUP25 or SUP26.
SUP23, 24 i skipped completely due to export, extension, shadow, other issues.
Yes, their team is still trying to fix the issue since i am (luckely) not the only one having this issue.
No need to find another job, still like my job and sketchup is only one of many software packages i am using
you should invite the dev in charge of that ask to post here.
there is a non zero chance that when they explain the issue, someone points at an “obvious” thing to fix (for them)
because having to work with a 4 — and sooner or later — 5 version delay is not a great fix 
I run the risk of repeating myself… according to some/many 
But have been indicating this since 2023, but so far without success.
Really would like to use just one version again, like SUP22, but they have disabled geolocation for that version which is essential ffeature, so I need at least two versions (26 to geo locate and 22 to analyse).
Will keep Make17 as a last resort and backup, just in case

Kind of the same since 2024.
Already testing for them to provide feedback.
Does that dev post here in the extensions / developer category? I am pretty sure that is what @ateliernab is suggesting. If it’s just you and the dev going round and round since 2024 maybe someone that posts here can help.
