Is there some reason why on macOS (Sequoia), 2025 p2 and now 2025 p3 do not allow one to copy and paste viewports in Layout? I copy a viewport, and select Edit, and the only option is Paste which puts the viewport as an image? What? I wanted a copy of the viewport. Also, Paste to Current Layer is ALWAYS grayed out. What is the problem?
Can you share the LayOut file so we can see what you are working with? I’ve never seen that behavior in LayOut on Windows.
We do have a bug report about that, LO-15651 in our system. @trent or @Barry may be able to look into what progress there is for that bug.
One thing I found when testing the example model in that bug report is that if you open the model in SketchUp, and in Model Info, Statistics, purge unused (and do a save), then the copy and pasting of viewports worked in LayOut.
@colin I’ll give that a try on a few of my SU models. It’s tough to do overlay work without viewports functioning as they should.
I haven’t checked feature requests but LO could really use a “Viewport” panel to manage layer and other characteristics since they are so essential to great work.
Thanks.
That is what the SketchUp Model panel is supposed to do. You can enable or disable tags that are in the model that is linked to the viewport.
You don’t need to check for requests, it already exists.
Please improve the UI because for no reason texts look smaller from 2024 to 2025…
i am indeed still using 2024 because i have damage my eyes enough working 9 hr in front of the PC..seems stupid but its not.
i talked about this here:
Hi Colin,
My display value was set to 150%.
I’ve now set it to a custom 140% and sketchup continues to start
It still does some strange things (scaling the window) but at least it doesn’t crashes.
If you want me to sent some further details for the developers, let me know.
Tnx, for the help.
